Breeze Volkswagen supports local swimming star in Olympic bid
15 June 2018
A bid for Olympic glory by local swimming star Jacob Peters has been given a boost with the donation of a car by Tower Park retailer Breeze Volkswagen.
As the youngest male swimmer on the 2018 Commonwealth Games swimming team, Jacob returned from the Gold Coast with a silver medal, two fifth places and a seventh place, and is tipped to be a world-beater.
Jacob is about to take his A levels at Poole Grammar School after which he intends to take 2 years out to focus solely on his swimming career. Despite being approached by National Centres, Universities and clubs worldwide, Jacob has chosen to continue his successful partnership with Poole Swimming Club to aim to qualify for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
Breeze Volkswagen is supporting Jacob with a new Volkswagen Polo to help him get to all his training and competitions on his Olympic journey.
Jacob said: “Thanks to Breeze Volkswagen I’ll be able to get to all my scheduled training sessions without relying on the availability of the family car. It will really help me focus on taking my career to the next level.”
Mark Langford, Managing Director at Breeze Volkswagen, added: “We are delighted to extend our ongoing relationship with Poole Swimming Club to support Jacob on his Olympic journey. He is already a star in our eyes and we look forward to following his continued success.”
